Lost and Found

Have you ever found yourself forgetting something at a gig? Leave a capo or slide behind? We’ve all done that in the past. The measures I’ve aken to prevent this is to have a routine when I break down. I do all of the following in order.
1: Guitar in Case
2: Organize and place capo’s, picks and slides in gig bag
3: Wrap up and pack cables
4: Unplug effects and pack pedalboard
5: Unplug amp and place cover on it
It may seem a bit OCD, but I don’t often leave things behind. Under no circumstances do I re-arrange the order. Consider making a system that works for you and stick to it. I also make sure that things get placed in the same pockets. I don’t ever place my picks, capos or slides in a different pocket. That would break the formula and my OCD world would crumble.
Having a system also makes it easy when you go to the next gig. You’ll know things are in their place if you haven’t unpacked since your last show.
